This morning I got to thinking about Dan Absalonson’s project to capture videogame memories. Find more of his series at Writings of Dan Absallonson
[Edit: I had to ask my wife but the game I couldn’t remember was called “Pitfall” and the little guy’s name was “Pitfall Harry”]

I don’t think I ever asked you what server you play on. My hobbit guardian and my up and coming warden are both on Branywine. I started there because it’s where Chooch and Viv used to play all the time. We should work out something and adventure together sometime!
My mains are all on Gladden.
We should talk 🙂
Thank you very much for sharing your videogame memories Nathan!
Wow, this podcast brings back memories. (Dan i’ll try to write something up for you)
Nate “Pitfall” for the Atari 2600 was my favorite console game when I was young.
It is also referenced in George Hrab in his song “When I was your age” a fun song for those of us a certain age or older 🙂
The first I played was Galaga at the corner convenience store. I got pretty hooked on it, but didn’t suffer too much in withdrawal symptoms. I was NOT good! Many years later I found Sherlock which was a DOS computer game and more mental with no real coordination required. That was a bigger hook for me. Now I play solitaire while listening to people rambling on their morning walk. 🙂 Not much of a gamer, I guess.
Laith – As of last Friday I’ve stopped releasing them twice a week, but I’m still accepting video game memories if you’d like to write up a guest blog I’d be happy to publish it on my blog and record it for my podcast feed as well. A big thanks again to Nathan for sharing with us and for linking to my site. He’s my favorite Podiobooks author so it was a really cool to have him contribute.
Sure thing Dan, I’m working on the post over my break lunch. I hope to get it to you soon.
